Ways to Give

At LifeChurch, we are passionate about giving. We believe that financial giving should be offered prayerfully and cheerfully from the heart (2 Corinthians 9:6-15). LifeChurch does not have an active ‘collection’ or ‘offering’ on a Sunday. We want to encourage our members to give freely and joyfully, following God’s lead.

Offerings can be place in the box provided on a Sunday or by giving regularly through the bank. You can download a standing order mandate form below or use our bank details to give.

Why we give

In addition to covering our operating costs and supporting in valuable community projects, we commit to giving away a significant proportion of our income to organisations that advance the Kingdom of God, and introduce the life-changing dimensions of the Gospel into difficult situations.

Our primary reason for giving financially to the church is because it is a way that together we can unite to show God’s love to others. As a local church supports one another and addresses the needs in its local community, our money resources things that become practical expressions of love. We give because God loves us and we want to demonstrate that love to others. We also give financially because the Bible teaches that it is often necessary for us to discipline the use of our money in a way that helps us to develop a deeper sense of compassion. The affection of our hearts will follow the things we give to and we will grow to love the things we sow into with our money. Where we choose to place our “treasure”, there our heart will be also (Matthew 6:21). If you discipline some of your money to help the poor, with the right engagement, you will in turn deepen your concern for others and your willingness to help people in need. We can lead our hearts to become generous through decisions to give; we do not need to wait to feel generous before we give.

Finally, we give financially because we appreciate the role our church plays in supporting each other. By giving money to the church, we can combine some of our resources in a way that will enable us to run activities for our children, to offer refreshments when we gather together, to salary people to lead in our development, and to hire buildings to have places to meet.

In order for us as a church to do all of this with maximum impact, we choose to use 50% of our total income to go towards helping projects, charities, organisations, and our own initiatives, that are focussed on reaching out to people beyond our church community. The remaining 50% is used to develop the work of the church inwardly. But 100% of the money we receive is used to bring glory to God and is managed with transparency and accountability
